Daughter's Defender was my introduction to the litrpg genre, and I can honestly say that this author has gained a loyal fan! The main character's development, backed by raw emotional experiences, keeps you hooked page after page, and I especially loved the other characters' POVs for the added depth they offer to the apocalyptic world. This book will have you on the edge of your seat until the very end, and leave you wanting more. I can't wait to see how this series ends!

Daughter's Defender was an emotional ride. It started off strong and had me crying in the first chapter. I love the main character, Dan. He's so funny and relatable. This was my first litrpg book I've read, and it was great. The stats weren't distracting from the story or too hard to understand. Overall, excited for the second.

I usually feel unimpressed with most novels and original stories, but man, was I proved wrong with this. The premise was familiar but not really like anything I had heard of before, and as I read it just continued to distance itself from any other books I knew. It was extremely refreshing to have such creative scenarios, dilemmas, and especially the monsters. I was also impressed with how emotionally involved the writing got as I followed and saw what Dan had to deal with. The style just sucked me into his perspective so well idk, it was a feeling that I haven't had for a long time. This book was incredible, and I cannot wait to get some more. I am so glad that I happened upon it.

This book is not only a great introduction to litrpg, but a great story for anybody looking for a deep and immersive world. The world sucks you in and doesn't let you go till the very last page. I cannot wait for the second book. Dan is the man.

I think the reason I finished the book as fast as I did was because I had to know what happened to Dan. K. J. Kiki does an incredible job of making you feel the weight of every choice and moment, with characters that actually have depth. If you enjoy stories like Dungeon Crawler Carl, Defiance of the Fall, or Solo Leveling, and want a darker, more intense take, Daughter's Defender is absolutely for you.
